In the past years, the SCC has had a steadily high number of investment treaty disputes. In 2018, six investment treaty arbitration were registered by the SCC.
Of the six investment treaty disputes commenced in 2018, four were initiated under the SCC Arbitration Rules.
The SCC has registered a total of 106 investment treaty disputes to date, where 74% has been administered under the SCC Arbitration Rules. Most of the investment disputes under the SCC Arbitration Rules arose from bilateral investment treaties and from the Energy Charter Treaty.
