Speed date with SCC, CAM, DIS and VIAC
On May 8, YAAP hosted a Round table with case managers, from the four arbitral institutions, that gave practical insights into daily case management issues.
The Round Table, the second international case manager meeting in Vienna, was this time done in a “speed-dating”-setting on tables of four small groups, with one case managers from each arbitral institution. SCC Legal Counsel Evelina Wahlström participated together with case manager Marina Nitrola from Milan Chamber of Arbitration (CAM), Patryk Kulig from German Arbitration lnstitute (DIS) and Klaudia Dobosz from Vienna lnternational Arbitral Centre (VIAC).
While enjoying a glass of wine and some snacks participants received answers to question submitted in advance or at the table. For example: is there a special relationship between Russia and Sweden and why? How does summary proceedings work? What help can the parties expect from the SCC, should the arbitrator/s act in a way not appreciated by the parties? How can I become an arbitrator under the SCC rules? Why choose the SCC over the ICC?
The participants were mainly Austrian arbitration practitioners but there were also participants from both Russia and South Africa present.
