Stockholm Treaty Lab tour continued to COP 24
The commended teams of the Stockholm Treaty Lab were at COP 24 to present their ideas on how to boost green investments.
SCC’s initiative Stockholm Treaty Lab is a global innovation contest that crowdsources international law to boost investments in climate change mitigation and adaptation. The 2017/2018 edition was concluded in the summer, and the jury announced that two teams were commended for their unique approach in their proposed model treaties: The Creative Disrupters and Team Innovate.
As the prize, the commended teams are given the opportunity to participate in various global forums to present their ideas. They started the tour in September 2018 in New York, where they presented at a conference held in conjunction with the UN General Assembly in New York. The tour continued to the Paris Peace Forum, a global event initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron in November 2018.
The last stop for 2018 was COP 24 in Katowice, Poland. On 6 December 2018, the commended teams took part in International Chamber of Commerce Business and Industry Day at COP 24 with the theme of ”Increasing Climate Ambition”. In a panel co-organized by the SCC, Lourdes Sanchez from the Creative Disrupters and Amelia Keene from Team Innovate presented the main ideas behind their model treaties.
