SCC at the 2018 Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot
Investment arbitration involves various issues when it comes to costs. SCC is organizing a seminar in Frankfurt on this issue on 12 March, in connection with the 2018 Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot.
The conference is addressed to the teams competing at the 2018 Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot (2018 FIAM) as well as investment arbitration professionals. Similar events, but with different themes, have been organized in the past years together with McDermott Will & Emery Rechtsanwälte Steuerberater LLP and Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. Last year, the moot had a record registration of more than sixty teams.
This year’s conference takes the theme of costs in investment arbitration. The first panel will address apportioning of costs, among others the factors to be taken into account and how to minimize the costs. The speakers include SCC Board Member Bart Legum and SCC Legal Counsel Natalia Petrik.
The second panel will address third-party funding in investment arbitration, among others best practices for arbitrators and third-party funders. The panel consists of among others SCC Board Member Dmitri Evseev and Sabine Konrad, partner with McDermott Will and Emery.
The seminar will conclude with a Frankfurt premiere of The Quiet Triumph: How Arbitration Changed the World.
