SCC at COP 24: Protecting climate change investments
SCC Legal Counsel Sukma Andrina will present the SCC project Stockholm Treaty Lab at an event at COP 24.
This year’s Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, also known as COP 24, will take place in Katowice, Poland between 3–14 December 2018.
The SCC and the Stockholm Treaty Lab are taking part in International Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Industry Day at COP 24. SCC Legal Counsel Sukma Andrina will be among the panellists in a panel themed ”Protecting climate change investments”. The panel aims to explore protection of the private and public-private investment in climate change mitigation and adaptation projects. The protection that will be discussed includes international dispute resolution, which provides a proven global framework that protects investment and state interests while at the same time upholds the rule of law and contractual certainty.
Ms Andrina will present Stockholm Treaty Lab, a global competition which crowdsources international law for the benefit of climate. Representatives of the commended teams, Lourdes Sanchez from the Creative Disrupters and Amelia Keene from Team Innovate will also share the innovative ideas in their submissions.
