Just Published: International Arbitration in the Energy Sector

The book, International Arbitration in the Energy Sector, has just been published by Oxford University Press. It puts international energy disputes into a global context, providing broad coverage of different forms of dispute resolution across both renewable and non-renewable sectors.

The book consists of eighteen chapters that enable readers to compare the approaches to energy arbitrations across various legal systems and regions. Authored by leading arbitration experts, Part I of the book covers commercial disputes, Part II covers investor-state disputes and Part III covers public international law disputes.

SCC Chairperson Kaj Hobér contributed a chapter in the book, Overview of Energy Charter Treaty Cases, meanwhile SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson contributed a chapter titled Climate Disputes and Sustainable Development in the Energy Sector: Bridging the Enforceability Gap. The book was edited by Professor Maxi Scherer from Queen Mary University of London.

SCC is hosting a seminar in Stockholm on 5 April 2018 where the book will be launched. Mr Hobér, Ms Magnusson and Ms Scherer will all be present as speakers.
