BCDR-AAA/SCC Joint Conference on Salient Issues in Investment Arbitration
On November 18, a conference with the aim to provide key updates and discussion on recent developments in investment arbitration will take place on Amwaj Islands in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The day will conclude with a screening of The Quiet Triumph – presented by the SCC.
The Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) co-organize the conference, with topics such as:
- Should investment disputes be submitted to international arbitration or to a permanent investment court?
- Procedural efficiency in investment arbitration (summary disposition of claims, expedited procedures and emergency arbitrator procedures)
- How to strike a balance between the protection of investments and the host country’s right to regulate?
- To what extent are conciliation and mediation efficient in the settlement of investor-state disputes?
At the close of the conference, BCDR-AAA and the SCC will host a cocktail reception, followed by a screening of The Quiet Triumph – presented by the SCC.
