Anniversary conference: “Navigating the Muddy Waters of Modern Arbitration”
On 7 November 2018 in Stockholm, the ICAL Alumni Association invites to a conference that will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the ICAL Program at the Stockholm University. The event will also serve as a kick-off for the Global Oral Rounds of the FDI Moot Court Competition. Registration is now open.
The conference entitled “Navigating the Muddy Waters of Modern Arbitration” aims at exploring new developments in the field of international arbitration and at promoting the research and practice in the field. As the title suggests, arbitral proceedings today are taking on many different forms and permutations. From addressing the public interests of a sovereign State to the private interests of an individual shareholder, the users of arbitration are expecting much more from the arbitral process than ever before. The conference aims to challenge arbitration practitioners and academics alike to answer the question of whether the traditional model of arbitration is sophisticated enough to keep up.
“The Stockholm Arbitration community looks very much forward to hosting this important global arbitration event, encompassing both an educational conference and an exciting moot”, says Brian Kotick, Senior Associate at Mannheimer Swartling and member of the Conference Organising Committee.
