11th edition of the FDI Moot a resounding success

The Global Orals of the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot Competition 2018 (FDI Moot), organized by the Office of International Affairs and the Center for Legal Studies (CILS) with the help and sponsor support of several founding institutions and the ICAL Alumni Association, took place on 8-11 November 2018 in Stockholm.

Over 90 practitioners and academics flew in to Stockholm from all over the world to act as arbitrators, scoring ca 350 students individually in the popular moot competition. The 53 teams, a diverse group of students coming from 28 different countries and representing universities from all continents, argued the moot case based on the 2017 SCC Rules.

The Final Match was held on Sunday 11 November, and was live-streamed from Aula Magna, Frescati. The finale is available through FDI Moots YouTube account

The winner of the 2018 FDI Moot was announced in an award ceremony on the Sunday afternoon; Congratulations to Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia! Their opponents, University of Montevideo, from Uruguay received an honourable mention during the award ceremony.
