SCC at COP 23
SCC, together with partners, is organizing a panel discussion as an official side event at COP 23. The panel aims to discuss how international dispute resolutions can support climate agreements.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference this year will take place in Bonn between 6 – 17 November, also known as COP 23.
A key theme of the negotiation will be the mechanisms that can enable implementation of and promote compliance with the Paris Agreement. The SCC, together with International Bar Association, ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, is organizing a panel discussion at the Bonn Zone that aims to explore this very question. More specifically, panelists will address how adjudication, conciliation and arbitration can support and promote the works of the parties of the Paris Agreement.
Among the panelists are SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson, Professor Dan Bodansky, attorney-advisor at the US State Department, and Christina Voigt, Legal Advisor to Norway for the UNFCCC negotiations.
Venue: Bonn Zone, Meeting Room 4
Date and time: 16 November 2017, 15.00 – 16.30
