SCC and Stockholm Treaty Lab runner-up in Financial Times award
The SCC made it number two in Innovative Lawyers Awards 2017, an annual award given by the Financial Times, for its initiative the Stockholm Treaty Lab.
The awards were presented at a gala dinner in London on 4 October 2017, where SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson and Legal Counsel Anja Håvedal Ipp took part of. Stockholm Treaty Lab was also mentioned as “standout” within the category of Rule of Law and Access to Justice.
Stockholm Treaty Lab is an innovation prize initiated by the SCC together with partners such as International Bar Associations, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, the Haga Initiative, TRINE and Stockholm Environmental Institute. The prize will be given to the teams that draft a model international treaty with the greatest potential to increase investments that can combat climate change, among others investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
“We are very proud that Stockholm Treaty Lab Prize was nominated for this award. Really great to see that our innovation competition obtained this international exposure, and we hope that will result in even more submissions”, says Ms Magnusson.
The Treaty Lab is part of a crowdsourcing platform HeroX and as of today, 22 teams have registered to compete at the competition.
