IBA undertakes survey to address gender diversity in legal profession
The International Bar Associations (IBA) undertakes a survey aiming to investigate why there are significantly fewer women in senior positions within the legal professions.
Chair of the IBA Women Lawyers’ Interest Group, Isabel Bueno, noted that typically women are graduating with law degrees and entering legal careers at the same or higher rates than men. However, significantly fewer women continue to senior positions.
The information to be collected by the survey are, among others, explanations for departure from legal profession and future career aspirations. A report from the survey will be published following the completion of data analysis.
