SCC and Stockholm University promoted Chinese scholarships for the ICAL Program

Last week, the SCC together with Stockholm University and the Swedish Embassy in China, met with some 60 Chinese students for presenting three scholarships for the ICAL programme 2017-2018.

These full-tuition scholarships for Chinese law graduates are donated by the Swedish law firms, Gernandt & Danielsson, Mannheimer Swartling and Vinge.

The meeting was held at the CIETAC office in Beijing, where the welcome remark was made by CIETAC Deputy Secretary General Dr Li Hu. Dr. Li, also a member at the SCC Board, himself took a LL. M. in International & Comparative Law at the Stockholm University in 1998-1999.

Dr. Patricia Shaughnessy, head of the ICAL programme and vice chairperson of the SCC Board, and Mr. Fabricio Fortese, Instructor at the Stockholm University, then presented the programme together with three alumni’s - Ms. Wen Dai, Ms. Nanxi Xie and Mr. Yuning Cheng - who shared their experiences from studying in Stockholm. More information about the Sweden-China relation, the Swedish culture and arbitration connection were made by Ms. Gabriella Augustsson, Counsellor, Head of Public Diplomacy, Press and Communication at the Swedish Embassy, and Ms. Sofia Wennersten, Communications Officer at the SCC.
