The ICCA Governing Board has awarded the ICCA Congress 2020 to Edinburgh, Scotland. Stockholm – one of the runners-up in the bid to host the ICCA 2020 Congress – extends its congratulations to Edinburgh.
– We are very proud of the Stockholm bid as presented to the ICCA Governing Board, says Jakob Ragnwaldh, co-chair of the ICCA Stockholm 2020 Organizing Committee. But it was a very strong line-up and in the end only one city can be elected to host the ICCA 2020 Congress. We wish Edinburgh every success in 2020.
SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson, who also o-chaired the ICCA Stockholm 2020 Organizing Committee, gives the following comment:
– The international support for the Stockholm candidacy which we have experienced throughout the bidding process has been quite overwhelming, and we would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm thank you to everyone who has endorsed Stockholm through letters of support, in the Advisory Board, and in other ways.
– The fact that so many strong candidates offered to host the ICCA Congress in 2020 is good news, and a testament to the importance of the ICCA Congress for the international arbitration community.
Other runners-up to host the ICCA Congress in 2020 include Copenhagen, Mexico City, St Petersburg, Vancouver and Vienna.
