SCC in Ekaterinburg: Arbitration in Russia and Sweden
SCC will co-organize a roundtable discussion on international commercial arbitration with focus on distinctive features of arbitration in Russia and Sweden.
Organized together with Ural State Law University, the session will be held during the ninth Euro-Asian Law Congress in Ekaterinburg on 18-19 June. The theme of the conference is ”Law and National Interests in Modern Geopolitics”.
International commercial arbitration is a well-known and frequently used tool for settlement of transnational disputes. Confidentiality and impartiality, as well as the parties’ right to choose the arbitrators who are qualified for settlement of the particular disputes, are undeniable advantages of arbitration compared with litigation.
During the roundtable, James Hope (SCC Board Member and Partner at Vinge) will speak about arbitral agreements together, and Vladimir Belykh (Doctor of Law, Professor, and Head of Business law department of Ural State Law University), will focus on International standards of entrepreneurship regulation. Mikhaleva Tatiana (Senior Associate at Mannheimer Swartling) will discuss the enforcement of SCC awards.
Participants at the roundtable will also receive the book “Arbitration in Sweden” that was recently translated into Russian.
