EFILA conference: EU law and investment treaty law

The inaugural conference of the European Federation for Investment Law and Arbitration (EFILA), “EU law and investment treaty law: convergence, conflict, or conversation?” will take place on 23 January 2015 at the Senate House in London.

The conference will be divided in five different panels focusing on the pros and cons of the ISDS system, the interaction between EU law and investment treaty law with regard to intra-EU BITs, extra-EU BITs and the future of investment treaty making and the challenges that the ISDS system is facing.

SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson will speak about the future of treaty making, and Jakob Ragnwaldh, SCC Board Member, partner with Mannheimer Swartling and Vice-Chair of EFILA, will moderate the panel devoted to discuss extra-EU issues in the context of investment disputes.
