Dispute Resolution Services

The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) provides dispute resolution services to the Swedish and international business communities.

The SCC offers arbitration and mediation services to Swedish and international parties who wish to have their disputes resolved outside of the public courtroom.

There are many reasons why parties choose to resolve their disputes outside of the courtroom. One of the most common reasons is that the procedure is shorter than that offered by the court system. This enables the parties to move on and focus entirely on their core business more quickly. Another reason often considered when choosing alternative dispute resolution methods is that the parties can agree on the procedure to a greater extent and influence who they wish to resolve the dispute for them.

The SCC is part of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce since 1917 and has acquired extensive experience in dispute resolution over a period of nearly 100 years. During this time, the SCC has developed into one of the premier institutions globally for east-west-related disputes and is today an international centre for the settlement of disputes where parties from up to 40 countries choose to have their disputes settled each year.
