Next week in Stockholm: After the Final Award – A new Battle on the Horizon?
Next week, starting in the evening of 15 June 2017 and ending on Saturday 17 June 2017, the International Association of Young Lawyers, AIJA, is holding its annual conference at the splendid Stockholm Waterfront Building. The conference offers in depth discussion on what happens after a final award and an exciting social program in the beautiful Swedish capital.
The conference is truly an excellent opportunity to discuss academic and practical issues related to arbitration, meet peers from all over the world, and build international relationships within the arbitration community.
SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson will hold a keynote speech and SCC Legal Counsel Natalia Petrik will speak in a panel on the role of arbitral institutions in ensuring enforceability of an arbitral award. The scientific part of the conference will be dealing with issues such as:
- What are the strategic choices, tricks, and keys to a successful enforcement of an arbitral award?
- What are the tribunal’s duties, obligations and liabilities after the award has been rendered?
- What are the grounds for annulment of arbitral awards in different jurisdictions?
Equally exciting is the social program of the conference, offering cocktails at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, dinner in the Swedish archipelago in close proximity to Stockholm city, and an experience of the bright summer nights in Stockholm nightlife.
