SCC joins Openlab

In 2015, the SCC initiated a project aiming to align international arbitration with a sustainable future.

This initiative included a COP21 side event titled Climate change related disputes: A role for international arbitration and ADR, co-hosted with the International Bar Associations (IBA), the ICC Court of Arbitration and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA). To continue this important work, SCC has now joined the Openlab in Stockholm.

Openlab is an initiative targeting society’s future challenges in radical and innovative ways by interdisciplinary collaboration. Founded by the City of Stockholm and six other public institutions, Openlab fosters open innovation through Master’s courses, professional education, workshops, seminars, exhibitions, and flexible work spaces. In essence, Openlab seeks to find and develop solutions to improve and safeguard sustainable urban life.

SCC joins Openlab as a member of the CoWorking space designed for collaboration and creativity, located at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

On 21 November 2016, a COP21 follow-up event will be held in Stockholm, co-hosted by the IBA, the ICC Court of Arbitration, PCA and the SCC. The topic of this one-day event will be Bridging the Climate Change Policy Gap. The list of speakers will represent a wide range of perspectives, including that of IBA President David W. Rivkin.

A full program and details on how to register will be available shortly. Any questions regarding the event or the program can be directed to Ms Sukma Andrina at the SCC Secretariat at
