SCC in Georgia: Limits and considerations in international dispute resolution
On 1-3 December GIAC arranged GIAC Arbitration Days in Tbilisi. This year’s conference was themed “Efficiency in International Dispute Resolution”.
At the conference, leading experts in the arbitration field discussed issues of international arbitration. The different panels addressed the role of institutions in shaping international arbitration practice, the use of mediation in commercial disputes, challenges of arbitrators and counsels, and much more.
SCC Secretary General Annette Magnusson spoke in the first panel - Institutional Panel: Power, limits and considerations. After introducing the SCC, she continued with discussing the powers and limits of the discretion of the arbitral institution.
GIAC Arbitration Days is the third annual arbitration conference in Tbilisi, Georgia. Participants from numerous jurisdictions around the globe gathers for three days of discussion of distinct topics in international arbitration.
