SCC Chairperson Kaj Hobér to speak at the China Arbitration Summit
SCC Chairperson Prof. Kaj Hobér is one of the speakers at the China Arbitration Summit taking place in Beijing 28 September. The SCC will also hold a conference together with CIETAC on the 26 September.
The China Arbitration Summit is co-hosted by CIETAC and is the main activity during China Arbitration Week. The theme of this years’ Summit will be “inheritance, innovation and harmonization”, and it will focus on new trends and hot issues of international and China arbitration under the “One Belt and One Road Initiative”, as well as the future development of the field.
SCC Chairperson Prof. Kaj Hobér will speak in the first session, which mainly will introduce new changes and new developments in the arbitration legal systems, arbitration rules and practice in different parts of the world. It will also address how arbitration institutions handle the problems in the internationalization and localization in arbitration as well as how to keep balance between the two.
As CIETAC is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year, the Summit will also give a retrospect of the 60-year history of China’s foreign related arbitration.
The SCC and CIETAC conference 26 September
On the 26 September, the SCC and CIETAC will arrange a joint conference focusing on the differences and similarities about arbitration in Sweden and China. The event will also include a mock arbitration with Swedish and Chinese lawyers and arbitrators. Read more and register to the event here
