VQ Forum 21 Oct: Legal innovation and business development
Scandinavia’s leading strategy event - VQ Knowledge and Strategy Forum - will take place for the sixth time in Stockholm on 21 October. This year’s main focus is business development and innovation – from both an in-house and outside counsel perspective.
The VQ Forum brings together change experts and leaders in the legal profession to discuss strategy and key developments in the legal market. Learnings and case studies will be presented by legal professionals who have successfully changed their business to adapt to the new legal future.
One example is the transformation of the British Telecom in-house company legal team, and Archana Makol, Chief Counsel BT Legal, will share her insights on the process. Miral Hamani-Samaan, EMEA M&A Managing Counsel at Hewlett-Packard, will explain their newly developed M&A tool that has systematized the processes and helped in making better judgments on acquisitions.
Key note speaker Jordan Furlong and legal tech guru Sally Gonzalez will discuss the changing legal market and the importance of knowledge management, among other things.
SCC Deputy Secretary General Kristin Campbell-Wilson and a panel of legal professionals, including inter alia Kate Davies, Allen & Overy, and Inger Brattne, Pfizer, will then discuss the challenges and opportunities facing legal practitioners due to recent changes in the legal market.
The event is a cooperation between VQ and SCC.
"As a provider of dispute resolution services both in a domestic and international context, it is essential for us to participate in the ongoing discussion on legal innovation and strategy within the legal field", says SCC Secretary General, Annette Magnusson, in a comment. "Disputes must be assessed from a commercial perspective, and this conference provides important insights for this purpose."
