Krakow conference on efficiency in arbitration and ADR - challenges today
SCC Legal Counsel Anja Håvedal Ipp will speak at a conference on international dispute resolution and diversity in Krakow 15 – 16 October.
The Krakow conference aims is to explore the complexities and ambivalence of dispute management and effective dispute resolution through arbitration and ADR in a globalized international business context. This will be discussed during four sessions:
o Current landscape of international arbitration and ADR from the CEE’s perspective: legislation and practice
o Tailor-made dispute management and resolution to fit the business needs
o Common law v. civil law: cohabitation, contamination or clash?
o Culture, soft law and ethics in international dispute resolution.
SCC Legal Counsel Anja Håvedal Ipp is one of the speakers in the panel dealing with procedural and evidentiary aspects of the systems of civil and common law, and will address the intersection of the two systems from the perspective of an arbitral institution. Other perspectives on this matter will be shared by co-panelists Professor Stavros Brekoulakis, Huan Fernandez-Armesto, Rolf Trittman, Michael Young, Jacob Grierson and Bartosz Kruźewski.
The conference is jointly organized by the ICC and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
